My mom’s family has always battled cancer, but it wasn’t until she herself was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2009 that the reality of the disease hit home for me. The Lord has graciously removed all fear for her health – I know He, the Great Healer, has her in His loving hands. Moreover, it has been a huge blessing to watch my parents’ faith and trust in the Lord grow stronger with each passing treatment – it is through His mercy and grace that my mom has come this far and is doing so well.
Additionally, after her diagnosis, my mom was consistently supported by a network of ‘angels’ - friends, family and neighbors who have all shown their love and encouragement through the offering of food, rides to chemotherapy appointments and prayers. My family has been fortunate enough to have these resources available to them, but there are many individuals who do not. When I heard about the Rock Cancer C.A.R.E. ministry and the services they offer, I knew this was the ministry where I could serve others, as my own family has been so graciously supported. |
